Windows-based Execution Server minimum requirements

This type of execution server is required for executing TestShell tests and automation written in Authoring.

Requirements

Description

Software

Windows

Any one of the following:

  • Server 2008 R2 64 bit Enterprise edition
  • Server 2012 64 bit Standard or Datacenter edition
  • Server 2012 R2 64 bit Standard or Datacenter edition
  • Server 2016 Standard or Datacenter edition

Hardware

CPU

4 quad cores

RAM

2 GB

Hard Drive

Minimum of 60GB for execution server only.

HDD with a page-file capacity of 200 MB

Note: Execution Server requirements vary according to the required usage. For example, in a scenario where 16 CPU intensive tests are run at any given time, an optimal environment would be a machine with 32 CPU cores, with capacity set to 16, or 2 machines with 16 CPU cores, with capacity set to 8 for each machine. In another scenario where 8 memory intensive tests are run at any given time, an optimal environment would be a machine with 16GB RAM, with capacity set to 8.

Linux-based Execution Server minimum requirements

This type of execution server behaves the same as a Windows execution server. However, Linux execution servers cannot run automation written in CloudShell Authoring but are required to run Ansible configuration management. For additional information, see the CloudShell Execution Server over Linux Virtual Appliance guide.
